Homescapes Game Reviews

  • Fun, BUT...

    By Momma1965
Like other players, I really enjoy the game. However, there is a huge disparity between the coins and stars you win and the coins and stars you have to spend. For example, stars are used to complete tasks. BUT, you only get ONE star per level you beat and tasks like fixing a fountain can cost up to a DOZEN stars to complete, so it takes forever to move forward in the game. And some of the tasks are just stupid. Calling someone is 1 star, having them come look at the problem is another, then fixing the issue can be 6 more, but then something goes wrong and you have to complete another task before you can finish the first one! As far as coins go, you win 50 per regular level and 100 per hard level you beat, with each leftover move, bomb, rocket and airplane giving you one to two extra coins. Now, if you need one or two extra moves to win a level, it will cost you 900 coins for five moves. That’s 180 coins per move. If you win in two moves, you’ll get 3-6 coins back on the unused moves that you just paid 540 coins for. You can’t get much more unfair than that! They also have lots of “Groundhog Day” levels that you’ll either have to play until you just want to delete the game altogether, you’ll eventually have things hit just perfectly so you win or you give up and spend real cash on coin packs. Playrix has great games but they need to get more player friendly and less money hungry or they’ll go the way of YoVille and lots of other great game developers.
  • Fun game

    By Jls338
I really enjoy playing this game. It has a lot of fun aspects to it. There are just a few reasons I didn’t give it five stars. First, it frequently feels like using power ups is a waste. Whenever I choose to use one, it almost always seems like they have set the game up against me. I usually play a level several times before deciding to use a power up, and it seems like more often than not, when I do use a power up, they choose to place the power up on the game board in some of the most inconvenient, useless spots. Second, combo moves don’t work like I think they should. Whenever I set up a move that has a chain reaction of multiple moves, the moves don’t effect obstacles next to them more than once. For example, if I have a chain reaction of even just two that are created against a box that takes more than one move to remove, only the first move effects the box, rather than both of them. (That is kind of hard to explain without showing an example...). Third, the rewards you get for playing each day reset every seven days instead of just accumulating and getting better. Fourth, it costs way too many coins for things (adding extra moves at the end of a level, power ups, etc.) in comparison to how many they give you for completing levels. It really is a fun game, and I definitely don’t expect every level to be easy to win, those are just a few of the complaints I have.

Gamer Comments

  • Fun, but spendy

    By Hkoh
This is a fun game, I like designing and picking what to do to the estate. But it’s an EXPENSIVE game!!! I don’t see how you can advance without spending and $$. And the rewards for completing levels aren’t valuable enough. Entertaining game but I’d disable in app purchases before beginning.
  • Not about home decorating 😩

    By AlexandraDW23
I just wanted to decorate a home like a SIMS game but NOOOO it’s just another freaking match game. I don’t want to do that. There’s literally THOUSANDS of those games. I just want to decorate a house. I’ll never own a house because of the terrible economy but I still want to decorate one. LET ME DECORATE THE HOUSE.

  • Amazing, fun, never get sick of it!

Same as I wrote on my heading you always find something more to love about it and I agree with a lot of the reviews and If you are thinking about getting the game I recommend it!
  • Some levels are too difficult

    By Bornam
Interesting game and I would have given 5 stars but this game need a lot of improvements. Some levels are too difficult. Some of the task doesn’t make any sense and not worth spending stars. I would love if the developer put whole focus on renovations of the house rather than mediocre task like play with cat or call a cab and make us waste star. It takes a lot of effort collecting stars since finishing every level gives you only one star.
  • Good, but not great

    By Violetshine
It’s a good quality app, and I usually don’t write reviews. The reason I didn’t rate this a 4 or a 5 star is for a few reasons. For one, it’s a little too difficult without boosters, I deleted this game at like level 11 because it got way too hard, now I reinstalled it and again I’m stuck on level 11. Also, the time you have to wait to get one life. 30 mins? Make it 15 or less please, and why do I only get 5 lives? It takes me about 5 lives to complete one level. Way too long of a wait. It’d be really great if you could watch an ad to get another life instead of waiting 15 minutes. Also, well, this one is a suggestion. Ok so, I don’t have Facebook to log in, and it would be great if I could create a Homescapes account without using Facebook. It’d be great to have the same account on my phone and iPad. Please please consider all of this. I will change my rating to a four-five star rating if you add these. A lot of the negative reviews cover what I’m saying. But overall, it’s a good app, but a little frustrating.
  • Good while it lasted

    By Evose59
The game was really fun at first. Interesting angle with the construction of your dream home coupled with challenging puzzles. But it quickly turned ugly. As you gradually increase in level, you’re constantly playing “hard levels” which are so contingent on either amazing rng or boosters, that you can easily spend 30+ lives, or several days, just stuck on one level. I laughed out loud so many times when things just came together so easily on these levels due to just dumb luck. This game is heavily micro transaction reliant. It’s not worth the aggravation when the App Store is filled with fun, innovative, and less micro transaction dependent games. Just go check the developers forums, people complain without a single response from developers. I uninstalled at level 90. Some of you are 1600+ you have nerves of steel, or deep pockets. I’d rather buy a PS4 game than be swindled. Would be 0/5.
